| August Headlines |
Frank Burrows must have saved a "get out of jail free" card from his last game of monopoly. City were outplayed by Scunthorpe who will be mad as hell for letting Jamie Hughes bag an equaliser in the 89th minute. Cardiff were lost for long periods of the game but Scunthorpes failure to capitalise on possession and attacking flair was to be their undoing. Debut boy Ipoua was breathtaking for the Iron, he was everywhere, he had the beating of the City defence. He missed several chances and scored Scunthorpes goal. After he was taken off on the hour Cardiff started to dominate. Even then though Scunthorpe had chances to extend their lead. Frank will have to review his tactics, we got a point, but only just. The midfield were nowhere. The passing game that has seen some quality football from Cardiff City was missing today, we lumped the long ball forward, only to see it swallowed up by the Scunthorpe defence. Theres a break next week. No league action untill Sep 11th when we travel to Wycombe. Time to reflect and sort something out. |
