City fell to an 81st minute volley from Phil Gray in a pulsating tie at Kenilworth Rd. It was the first league defeat for the Bluebirds in Division 2 this season. They must now bounce back against Scunthorpe at Ninian Park on Monday.

City fielded a much changed side with John Cornforth making the starting XI for the first time along with Matt Brazier.Jason Fowler joined Cornforth and Brazier in the middle of the Park.

After his scoring debut in midweek Jamie Hughes was on the bench today along with Lee Phillips, Craig Middleton, Seamus Kelly and the returning Richard Carpenter.

Willie Boland, Danny Hill and Mark Bonner, the regular midfield were all absent through injury.
