No doubt about it. A fantastic result. Cardiff have overcome all the odds and have beaten 1st division Q.P.R. on their own patch. City took the lead on 40 mins when Rangers old boy Matt Brazier hit the target. That goal was enough to take the game into extra time. Even when Gavin Peacock scored a penalty on 103 mins Cardiff still needed to get another goal to force penalties. If the game had finished 1 - 0 after extra time we would have lost on away goals. The break came on 115 mins when super sub Jamie Hughes fired in an overhead kick to make the score 2 - 1 to Cardiff and to put the match into penalties.

Q.P.R. started the penalties and immediately Gavin Peacock's first kick was saved by Jon Hallworth. SuperKevin Nugent put City 1 - 0 up. Tony Scully scored for Q.P.R. to make it 1 - 1. John Cornforth put City 2 - 1 up. The tie swung Cardiff''s way when Barraclough missed. Pressure was back on when Jamie Hughes failed with his kick. Langely scored to make it 2 - 2 but Andy Legg put away Cardiff's 4th kick to make it 3 - 2 to City with one kick each left. Chris Kiwomya was the unfortunate player to miss Q.P.R.'s last kick and give theresult to Cardiff by 3 penalties to 2.

The draw for the second round is this weekend.

Hats off to the boys. Absolutely brilliant.
