Cardiff have been cleared over the violence that marred the opening day of the season. The following reports have appeared on teletext this morning.

FOOTBALL CARDIFF CLEARED OVER TROUBLE
Cardiff City have been cleared of any responsibility for the crowd trouble which marred their opening Second Division game.

There were pitched battles in Cardiff City Centre when Millwall fans arrived for the game at Ninian Park in August.

Hundreds of police officers were drafted in to escort fans to the ground after the trouble flared. A number of people have since appeared in court.

But a joint FAW and English FA inquiry has absolved the Bluebird's management.

CARDIFF CLEARED AFTER HOOLIGANISM PROBE

Cardiff City have been cleared of blame for the hooliganism which marred their opening Division Two match against Millwall in August.

A joint Football Association of Wales and English FA panel has absolved the Bluebirds after investigating trouble before and after the Ninian Park game.

Police in riot gear dealt with disturbances in Cardiff city centre and a number of arrests were made.
