City are on the verge of signing a new striker. Swindon Town's Iffy Onuora is having talks with Cardiff City and a signing is imminent. The 32 year old Glaswegian turned down a move to one of his old clubs Gillingham last week but seems very interested in S.Wales. A fee of around £110 - £120,000 has been agreed and Onuora was left out of last Saturdays line up for Swindon pending the move to Ninian Park.

Onuora has a proven goalscoring record, He started his league career with Huddersfield and scored 40 goals in 149 starts. He then moved on a free transfer to Mansfield and scored 8 goals in 18 starts. Gillingham then bought him for £25,000 and he scored 26 goals in 54 starts. In March 1998 he moved from Kent to Swindon for £120,000 and has scored 25 goals in 69 starts (figures exclude times come on as sub).

Iffy's recent form has been poor with only 4 goals to show for this season so far. You must remember though he is playing in a side at the bottom of Div 1 and very chances are being created. Maybe a change is just what he and us needs.

Final confirmation will follow when I get it but it looks like we may have ourselves a new striker.
