City failed to take advantage against 10 man Wrexham at Ninian Park tonight. The Bluebirds were at times breathtaking and the exitement level throughout the game was unbelievable. Jason Bown headed home on 37 minutes after Kevin Nugent headed an Andy Legg cross back across goal. Wrexham equalised 10 minutes into the second half from a very clever Stevens scissors kick. The amount of possession and creative play should have seen City winning at a canter but Wrexham were not be outdone and held on for a draw.

The crowd tonight was 11,168 a fantastic figure for a night match. We move into second place after the result but I'm sure the boys will be kicking themselves for not winning the game.

The match stats show how much pressure Wrexham were under. City had 19 goals attemps to Wrexham's 8. City also hit the woodwork twice.

If we continue to play like this all season we will do more than hold our own in this division. Complacency will be the threat like last season. The ability of the City players on the pitch tonight was a joy to watch but they have go and win matches the victories will not come to them. Danny Hill was brilliant until he got into the box when his finishing let him down. Legg was awesome again down the left and Faerber managed some good moves on the right. Fowler is getting accustomed to his sweeper role and played well tonight. A mention for Kevin Nugent. That guy must be made of steel. He got battered again by the Wrexham defence. One challance on him got Owen sent off as he checked Nugent with such force it lifted him off his feet.

I've come home thoroughly entertained and although we should have won fair credit to Wrexham who made it a cracking game.
