The Echo today reveals that Aberdeen are the Scottish premier club looking at Jason Bowen. Frank and Steve B have both said they want Bowen to stay at Ninian Park and I totally agree. It was also mentioned that several clubs have enquired into Kevin Nugent. Frank said in the press over the weekend that he is fighting to ensuure he keeps the strikers he already has as well as trying to find a new goalscorer. While there have been critism levelled at Bowen, Nugent and the relucatance to buy a new striker our two frontmen have put 16 goals away between them the season. The arrival of Chris Roberts on the scene last Friday will keep the other two on their toes and ensure competition for places in attack.

The Echo touch on the David Paars transfer. There is speculation that the deal is struggling. I was advised over the weekend by my Belgian contact that Paars has declined the move. It looks as though that deal is dead. I would imagine that will be confirmed in the next day or so.

Josh Low is expected to sign a 2 year contract within the next 24 hours. Frank has said before he wants the midfielder to act as a striker.

With Low on board, Roberts getting a chance, Bowen and Nugent in reasonable scoring form and Hughes and Earnshaw in reserve I wonder how much emphasis is currently on looking for a srtiker. The Paars deal came close but the player declined the move, reports back from Belgium have claimed he is a player in the Dai / Nugent mould, a target man rather than a quick footed goal poacher. maybe better off without him.

Dai Thomas' proposed loan move to Exeter has fallen through. Dai is back at Ninian Park but remains on the transfer list.

I understand that this week may be very busy at Ninian Park. I will keep you up to date with any developments.
