Yesterdays World Exclusive by the NOTW appears to have come to nothing. Reports today say that Tony Vaughan has returned to Maine Rd and is unlikely to return to Ninian Park.

The deal appears to have hit two stumbling blocks. 1. City were only prepared to offer £200,000. £250,000 less then the asking price and 2. Vaughans personal terms were too much for City to cover. He was earning an estimated £4K per week. I can imagine a lot of unrest in the dressing room if someone was earning 2 or 3 times their wages.
