"Graeme played for Bradford and West Yorkshire boys as well as earning England representative honours. He signed schoolboy forms for Bradford and an apprenticeship followed. He made his first team debut for Bradford at the age of 17 coming on as a sub in a FA Cup tie. His Football League debut came soon after at the age of 18 when he made the dream debut by scoring against Cambridge United. His impressive record of 7 goals in 15 games as well as upsetting Manchester United in an Earlier Youth Cup tie prompted a £100,000+ transfer to Old Trafford.

He won a Lancashire league winners medal and two Pontins winners medals playing alongside the likes of the Neville Brothers, David Beckham, and Paul Scholes. He made his first team debut for Manchester United in the Coca Cola cup against Newcastle United. He had loan spells with Luton and Wimbledon and broke his leg playing for Luton against Port Vale. The injury made it difficult for Graeme to establish himself at Old Trafford and he became yet another youngster loaned to Bournemouth by Manchester United in 1997-98. Graeme arrived at Dean Court at the start of the new campaign, having recovered from his seriously broken leg. A striker with good awareness around the box, and a good touch on the ball, he soon got down to business and acquitted himself well during his stay, scoring in a 2-0 win over Blackpool, before going back to Old Trafford.

He was later loaned out to Millwall to further his experience and scored on his debut. At the New Den, he showed good close control and an ability to get at defenders.
He signed for Macclesfield in the summer of 1998."
