qpr.gif (8934 bytes)Russell Perrett will miss out tonight after sustaining an ankle injury against Millwall. Its possible that Mike Ford will return to the side after missing all of the pre season games through injury. There is talk of Lee Jarman possibly replacing Jason Fowler as sweeper. Fowler would then possibly move forward into a more familiar midfield role or onto the bench. Frank Burrows is keen to keep the players totally committed by making unpopular descisions. No player is safe, if they have a bad game Frank wants them to know there is a hungry player waiting to step in. Both Danny Hill and Matt Brazier will be keen to play in from of their old boss Gerry Francis. Francis signed Brazier for Q.P.R in his previous term as manager there and Francis was Hill's boss at Spurs. Kevin Nugent is expected to come into the team from the start and replace Dai Thomas who had a poor first half against Millwall and was replaced at half time by Nugent. Nugent is trying to shake off a knock during that second half and if he does not make it Thomas will keep his place. John Cornforth who is only on a months contract may wish to remove himself from selection as he would become cup tied if he leaves the club after the month is out.

Q.P.R. arrive with several familiar names in their squad. Miklosko, Maddix, Breacker, Kiwomya, Peacock to name a few.

After the events of last Saturday a lot of people will be interested in this tie. I hope that common sense prevails from everybody and several thousand fans turn up at Ninian Park and shout Cardiff hopefully to victory. It is a big game for Cardiff, I suppose in some way it could be called a glamour tie against a team from a higher division. Let football be the winner tonight, if City play anywhere near as well as they did on Saturday it will be a great game.
