| Tues 10th Aug 1999 - City 1 - 2 Q.P.R - Match report | |
| August Headlines |
City were unlucky to lose tonight. Q.P.R. looked a very confident outfit in the first half and in my opinion deserved their first half lead. After the break though it was a different story. City played some tremendous football but could not finish. Disaster struck in the 65th minute when Jason Fowler put through his own goal. City did pull one back minutes later from Jason Bowen. Bowen had earlier missed a sitter which would have made the game 1 - 1 and after he did score to make it 2 -1 in Rangers favour City put the Londoners under severe pressure. The patience shown by Rangers started to wain and the composure they showed in the first half failed them in the second half. I though at times they verged on the unsporting, they were shirt pulling and time wasting. They did however have one great chance to put the tie out of reach but a shot at goal somehow hit Mike Ford's toe and flew over the bar. Full match reports on the match report page. |
