A win, thank goodness for that. After 90 seconds we were 1 down, I was in despair but as the game went on City were comfortable and grabbed a deserved equaliser on 22 mins from Matt Brazier. It stayed that way until half time. City finished the tie off with two quick goals early in the second half. Russell Perrett fired home on 51 mins and Kevin Nugent followed up with a goal on 54 mins. Matt Brazier was voted sponsors man of the match.

Cardiff now travel to Bury in round 2 after the Shakers came from behind to win in extra time against Tamworth. The score finished Bury 2 - 1 Tamworth.

So a major confidence boosting win. Now we must follow that up with 3 points from Chesterfield on Friday night.
