Cardiff have signed ex Swansea skipper John Cornforth, 31, on a one month loan. Frank Burrows has brought John in as cover for Richard (Chippy) Carpenter after he broke a bone in his toe in pre season action. The deal will anger Swansea fans who were desparate for Cornforth to sign for them this pre season but it seems like the Swans could not afford to sign the player. John has played nearly 300 games and scored over 30 goals in a career that has seen him start in Sunderland and come to Cardiff via, Doncaster, Shrewsbury, Lincoln, Swansea, Birmingham, Peterborough and Wycombe. Nearly 1/2 million pounds has been spent on John in transfer fees.
