The top two of Reading and Brighton are 10 points ahead of City. Lennie is still keeping half an eye on an automatic place but it would mean City winning all their games and either Brighton or Reading only winning once in their last four games and losing a couple as well. The idea to keep winning is the right one though. At least it will guarantee a play off position and in the current form we are in there will be no team that will want to face us either in the two legged semi final or in front of 35,000 Bluebirds in the Millennium Stadium. That's the future though, here and now is a game against Port Vale, a crowd expected to be nearly 17,000 and the chance to probe deeper into the play off places.

The top of the table looks like this.

Reading v Northampton
The Cobblers are battling against Relegation and I don't think Reading will find this one that easy.

Brighton v Bristol City
A double edged sword. I think we need a draw here. Then we still have the outside chance of catching Brighton and Bristol City will drop further behind us if we win. I know it's not that realistic to worry about the top two but while that chance is there City will continue to perform and getting results is still important to get into the play offs.

Bury v Brentford.
Bury like Northampton are fighting for second division survival. Not an easy task for Brentford.

Stoke v Swindon
Should be no problem for the Potters.

Huddersfield v Oldham
Should be a home win but Oldham managed to draw at Reading last week and could earn a point again.

Cardiff v Port Vale
Has to be a home win. It will be a 4th in a row if we get it.

Q.P.R. v Notts County
Rangers have an outside chance to make the play offs but will have to win at home tomorrow and hope City slip up. It's very unlikely they will make it.

Wycombe v Tranmere
Tranmere have blown it and thats good news for Cardiff. Hopefully April 20th will be party day and City will already be assured a play off place. Jason Koumas who refused a big money move to West Brom was in Fridays Echo in the following article.

JASON Koumas pledged his immediate future to Cardiff City's play- off rivals Tranmere Rovers, played for Wales and then issued a heartfelt warning to the Bluebirds.

Koumas, 22, made an astonishing u- turn over his proposed transfer from Tranmere to First Division West Brom - and firmly believes his Merseyside club will make the play-offs at the expense of Cardiff.

"It will come down to Tranmere or Cardiff, I'm convinced about that," said Koumas.

I think he may want to reconsider after Tranmere lost at home yesterday and City won away. Sorry Jason its not going to happen.

After Monday's game we could possibly eliminate Q.P.R and Tranmere and the focus will then rest on the top 7.

As usual the main issue is City getting the win. We can re-assess the situation after the games on Monday.
