It's expected that City will keep the same
starting line up when they face Chesterfield tomorrow. New signings Stephen Bywater and Gary Croft will probably be on the bench as might Robert Earnshaw and Mark Bonner. Layton Maxwell and Jason Bowen are not quite ready yet. Ceri Hughes is unlikely to be in contention for the first team this season but Lennie knows the ability of the player and has employed him for the next month to see if he can regain his previous best. City go to Chesterfield looking to pick up a win that will put the pressure on Bristol City who entertain Reading. City and Chesterfield were both promoted last season although the Spirites finished the season being called Cheaterfield and finished third in division 3 after a points deduction following financial irregularities. City fans are hoping that Andy Campbell can continue his Saturday scoring sequence. The new £900,000 signing scored once in his first Saturday game at Northampton, twice against Blackpool in his second Saturday game and then three against Oldham in in his third game on a Saturday. Tomorrow is the 4th Saturday game. What chance of a quadruple strike? There was good news for City yesterday when Jason Bowen signed a new two year deal. Willie Boland has also signed his new two year contract meaning that Bowen, Boland, Bonner and Young are all on new 2 year deals. Andy Legg has already signed a one year deal and now Mark Walton has agreed a 12 month deal as well. Walton understands he is third choice but his experience is seen as an asset and he can help out with coaching as well. There will be a squad update when it's known which players have travelled to Chesterfield. |
