Daniel Gabbidon has received many favourable comments in the press after his Wales debut last night.

Here are a selection

The Sun
Unsung trio Danny Gabbidon, Jason Koumas and Darren Ward put a smile
on the face of coach Hughes. Suddenly Sparky's squad has a depth about it that has been sadly lacking in recent years. Hughes' golden vision must surely include the likes of Cardiff youngster Gabbidon, 22, who looks at ease in the troublesome left-back spot as he won his first cap.

The Guardian
"There were more positives for Hughes, though, in the assured debut of the
Cardiff defender Danny Gabbidon"

BBC Radio Wales pundits
Kevin Ratcliffe reckoned Gabbi was his man of the match, and both he and Dean Saunders were exclaimatory in their praise, especially as they pointed out he was playing out of poisition at left back, yet still turned in such an accomplished performance.

Western Mail report:

'Hughes would also have taken comfort from the composed debut of Cardiff City's Danny Gabbidon - whose first touch in a largely empty stadium raised one of the biggest cheers of the night...'

Mark Hughes:

"Danny stuck to the task and showed he wanted to be involved," said Hughes. "He demonstrated he has all the attributes needed - pace, athleticism - and he acquitted himself well."

BBC report:

'Man-of-the-match Ward wasn't the only fresh face to impress, with Cardiff's young left-back Danny Gabbidon looking like he belonged in international company.'

Sports.com:

And Hughes singled out Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Darren Ward and Cardiff defender Danny Gabbidon for special praise. Said the Blackburn striker: "I thought Daniel Gabbidon stuck to his task really well. "He's athletic and has pace. It was a major step up for him from his club level but he acquitted himself well."
