Hammam admitted today that he did have a bust up with Ian Butterworth at Prenton Park
yesterday but it was soon forgotten about. Hammam was angry at finding out he could not sit on the bench for the game. he had words with Butterworth outside the dressing room "I was really angry, but for no more than 15 seconds. It's utter nonsense to suggest that Alan Cork and Ian Butterworth were sacked. It's a crazy story. During a match I get nervous-and either go down to the away dressing room or to the dug-out. I am always on the list for the dug-out and that has always been acceptable - every man and his dog knows that." Hamman said the issue was now settled "I spoke to Butts three or four times last night and there is and never has been any problem between us. Last night we talked about players and players contracts - and I will be meeting up with Corky this week to take those discussions further. We have players at the club whose contracts must be sorted out and we will be dealing with those issues." Hammam was left off the list aparantly by Tranmere "Tranmere's chairman apologised to me and there are no hard feelings at all. It was a minor matter and it's all in the past. "I did leave the ground about 15 minutes into the second half, but that was because I am not a great fan of cup football." |
