Cardiff City have completed the permanent signing of Andy Campbell from Middlebrough. The news confirmed in today's Echo is brilliant for Cardiff City fans.

The young striker has scored 6 times including a hat-trick in his 5 games so far and there was a worry he may attract the attention of other clubs. But Lennie Lawrence has finalised the signing thought be around £900,000.

This is great news. Well done to Lennie for getting his man and welcome Andy to Ninian Park.

Campbell told the Nationwide website

"I've been at Cardiff only a few weeks but I've already realised how big the club is. In Sam Hammam they have an owner with real enthusiasm and in Lennie Lawrence they have a man I respect greatly.

"I feel Cardiff are going places and I want to be part of their progress. I truly believe City can be a bigger club than Middlesbrough".

"It's going to be a wrench to leave my home and all my friends and family back on Teesside. But I really feel my career needs this move.

"Now I'm at Cardiff I'm determined to make the most of it for our passionate fans - I'm going to do all I can to fire the goals to take us to the play-off final at the Millennium Stadium."

Lennie has also completed the loan signing of Stephen Bywater from West Ham. Bywater, a goalkeeper is currently an England U 21 international and has signed until the end of ther season.
