Cardiff's crucial play off clash at Huddersfield was called off at 6:15pm. Earlier in the day conditions were improving after overnight rain and the game was thought to be safe but heavy storms during the afternoon forced a 6pm pitch inspection and at 6:15pm the referee deemed the pitch waterlogged. City skipper Graham Kavanagh will now miss this Saturday's clash at Northampton and next Tuesday home game against Q.P.R. City will now have the chance to make it three league wins in a row when the Bluebirds visit Sixfields Stadium on Saturday to face the Cobblers. Andy Campbell would have started tonight and the line up was planned to be as originally thought with Bowen dropping back into midfield and Campbell starting with Peter Thorne. That could stay the same for Saturday but maybe Mark Bonner could be back for that game? Bad luck to the City fans who made the journey North. I know that they are dispersing throughout Yorkshire and Lancashire to catch a game that is being played. Barnsley v Crystal Palace and Oldham v Brentford seem to be the two favoured matches to go and see. |
