City have today denied claims that the Bluebirds will be entertaining Man Utd and
Liverpool in pre season friendlies ahead of next season. The story in the Sunday papers made the matches look like a racing certainty but Sam Hammam today said "I doubt very much if it will be Liverpool or Manchester United." "If we are in Division One we will play a Premiership club, but if we remain in Division Two we are likely to play a top First Division side. "That will be our final pre-season match and it will be at Ninian Park. The pre-season fixtures are arranged, not for enjoyment, but to make sure the team are prepared for the campaign. "The last game should always be one hell of a test. "Nothing, though, has been finalised yet." City have said they will play at Penydarryn Park against Merthyr and take a three match tour to Scotland. |
