Cardiff and Tranmere have a very short history. The teams have only ever met 7 times and Tranmere have won three, Cardiff twice and two draws.

The first meeting was back in September 1986 when Rovers came to Ninian Park and won 2 - 0. They completed the double that season with a 2 - 1 win at Prenton Park in February.

The following season cardiff took the honours. A 1 - 0 win at Prenton Park with a 3 - 0 Boxing Day win in Cardiff. So a double a piece.

The third season in a row that the teams played together saw a 3 - 0 win for Tranmere in August 1989 with a goalless draw in Cardiff in January 1990.

Then a gap of over 10 years until the current season. The only game played between the teams this season saw Jason Bowen below, head home to apparantly earn City a home win.

But in the 93rd minute Paul Rideout headed an equaliser and a 13,000 Plus crowd was stunned.

So a City win to even up the honours would be very nice.
