Daniel Gabbidon, scorer of the goal of the night against Wrexham last night, is hoping for his first Wales cap against the Czech Republic in Cardiff on Wednesday.

Gabbidon, who its claimed was watched by Aston Villa last night, has joined up with the Welsh squad ahead of Wednesday's friendly.

Gabbidon was proud of his goal saying

"Thats the best goal I've ever scored." As for a probable Wales cap he said "I'd love to think Mark Hughes will select me to play for Wales to play against the Czech Republic. What a finish to the season that would be."

Gabbidon also told the Echo he was happy at Cardiff despite the interest from premiership teams.

"I have two years of my contract left after this season and I intend to honour that. Indeed I would be delighted if Cardiff City wanted to open talks to extend my contract."

Wales v Czech Republic is live on BBC TV and Radio Wales this Wednesday March 27th. City's other called up player Rob Earnshaw misses out this time for Wales but he is hoping to be fit to return to the squad for City's next game against Chesterfield a week today.
