Bristol City have leap-frogged City into 6th place in Division 2 after a 3 - 1 win at Bournemouth. The Robins are a point ahead of City having played a game more.

The top two of Reading and Brighton both drew allowing third placed Brentford, who did not play today, to stay in touch with an automatic promotion place. Stoke in 4th and Huddersfield in 5th both edged closer to the top with home wins.

Bristol City are 6th with Cardiff 7th.

There is a gap of 5 points back to 8th place with Oldham and Tranmere (9th) on 62 points. Q.P.R are on 61 points in 10th.

City have a game in hand on all the top teams except Huddersfield who meet City in the third last game of the season at the McAlpine.

Pos Team                   P  W  D  L   F   A   GD Pts

4  Stoke City            41 21 10 10  62  36   26  73
5  Huddersfield Town     40 20 12  8  59  38   21  72
6  Bristol City          41 20  8 13  60  42   18  68
------------------------------------------------------
7  Cardiff City          40 18 13  9  66  47   19  67
8  Oldham Athletic       41 16 14 11  71  60   11  62
9  Tranmere Rovers       41 16 14 11  57  50    7  62
10 Queens Park Rangers   41 16 13 12  53  44    9  61

Its getting very tight at the top where anyone of the top 7 (City and Bristol very much outsiders) could get automatic promotion and its still not dead for 8th, 9th and 10th to make the play offs.

Bottom line though would suggest a battle between Bristol City and Cardiff for 6th place.
