A
draw against Wrexham would move City into 6th place, the final play off spot. City though must be looking for the in. Wrexham are a team struggling for survival but seem incapable of saving themselves. I will take no pleasure in seeing the Robins get relegated but pure selfishness for the progress of Cardiff City means I want the Bluebirds to win tomorrow night and continue the unbeaten run under Lennie Lawrence and push City closer to a play off place. In form striker Andy Campbell is hoping to add to his 6 goals since joining City 4 games ago including a hat trick last Saturday. Campbell said "I've never had a goalscoring spell like this and I'm determined to keep it going. If we beat Wrexham, then we have a great chance of making it into the play-offs. I'm here to help Cardiff reach that goal and it will be great if we continue in this type of form." Lennie Lawrence has said he wants to sign Campbell and Sam has admitted coming under pressure to sign Campbell before the deadline next Thursday and so allow City upto two loan signings. City have been warned by former Wrexham boss Brian Flynn not to expect an easy win against Wrexham. Flynn has likened the game to a cup time and said that Wrexham have "battling qualities". Flynn also says "Cardiff have their sights set firmly on sixth place and perhaps even fifth place if Huddersfield - who are five points ahead of Cardiff and have also played a game less than Bristol - slip up. And that means the important thing as far as Cardiff are concerned is winning. A good performance against Wrexham will count for nothing if they fail to pick up three points." I agree Brian, the three points are so important to Cardiff City. They must be won. |
