City ended the season on a winning note and in doing so have ensured a home second leg in the play offs.

The way results went the top 6 stayed the same so it's Stoke City v Cardiff City. The first leg will be at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday April 28th with the return in Cardiff on Wednesday May 1st.

Gary Croft scored his first City goal as Cardiff laid to rest the FA Cup nightmare and so ensured a winning end to the season which has seen the Bluebirds finish in 4th place. Only one point behind Reading who go up in second place.

Lennie has not taken 13 games in charge of City and has won 10 and drawn 3, fantastic stuff. 33 points from 39. Without doubt we would not have made the play offs if he had not have came in when he did.

Tranmere were unlucky not to get something from a game that was not a classic, they hit the woodwork and had a fair shout for a penalty turned down.

The goal when it came on 72 mins was probably the best bit of football in the match, a move involving several passes was finished off by Croft and he did a one two with Graham Kavanagh and Croft was able to steer the ball past Murphy in the Tranmere goal (to be honest the last touch may have been a mis kick as it bobbled past the keeper). Cue mad celebrations at the City end of the ground.

After the final whistle all the City fans stayed in the ground and 10 minutes later the team came back out and were given a great ovation from the Cardiff fans and applause from Tranmere fans as well. The players turned on Sam and lifted him up and and threw him into the goalmouth, they then covered him in mud and runined what was probably a very expensive suit.

Then it was time for the Tranmere team to come out, they were given a great ovation by Tranmere and City fans alike and Simon Howarth again did the ayatollah to City fans.

The other play off match is Huddersfield v Brentford with the first leg at the McAlpine next Sunday.
