REACTION TO LAST NIGHT
Lennie Lawrence, the players and fans were all delighted with Tuesday's expected home victory vs Bury but a relief to get back to winning ways. Graham Kavanagh described the game as 'nothing special' but, like all with any interest in City, he knew the win was more important than the performance.

Lawrence was happy that City, although unable to kill the game with a second goal, fought to make sure they didn't allow Bury to snatch an equaliser either. Bury had 2 decent efforts all match and didn't trouble Neil Alexander at all in the final 40 minutes despite plenty of possession and territory. Lawrence said that he expects a similar attitude in future.

Kav appealed for fans to back the club for the rest of this season and play offs will only be possible with everyone united.

LAST NIGHT'S PENALTY
No surprises with the after match comments. City were awarded it, Lennie Lawrence saw it perfectly and agreed with the decision. Bury Manager, Andy Preece, was stood 10 yards closer as it was at his end of the pitch but loaned Arsene Wenger glasses claiming that he didn't have a good view but he did comment that it was a silly penalty to give away ... which I guess means that he did see it really!

RESERVES WIN TOO
Cardiff City reserves collected their 1st win in 6 games with an excellent 2-1 victory at Wycombe. The reserve squad contains a fair amount of youth currently following the departures or loan out of players such as Nugent, Brazier, Thompson, Evans, McCulloch making the result even better. Second half goals from Layton Maxwell and Tony Wallis gave The Bluebirds a deserved victory.

SIGN ON
Still no news of a signing. Lennie Lawrence is happy with defence and central midfield but wants more options going forward with a striker remaining a key priority, on loan rather than a permanent signing. Lennie commented about City having enough neat players but he is targeting height, strength, power or pace. Dion Dublin fits the bill but that option now seems dead. Lawrence added that if a player comes in, it will be from a higher profile club but hints it may be someone with a lower profile than Dublin who is better, different or both to current options which, for now, is Bowen, Leo, Brayson and Throne which Earnie, Gordon and even Nogan injured.

ALL IS FINE ... for now
Lennie Lawrence spoke to Rhys Weston, Graham Kavanagh, Jason Bowen and Spencer Prior all involved in public incidents during or after the Wigan disaster defeat last weekend.

Weston admitted giving "verbals" to a section of the City crowd in the heat of the moment as he and the team were subjected to abuse by supporters. Lawrence stated he is young and learnt a lesson. Get behind Rhys, he's young but he shows more passion and cares more than most on the pitch and wears his heart on his sleeve. He fought hard and played well last night, the right way to answer critics.

Prior, Bowen and Kavanagh also had a chat with Lawrence after on-pitch scuffling during a warm-down after final whistle at Wigan. Lennie said it's sorted and that at least it showed that the players concerned cared.

CONTRACTed?
Scott Young is expected to sign a new 2 year contract shortly. He also also due a testimonial next season.

Andy Legg's much discussed contract may be close to being resolved. He has been offered a new 12 month contract whilst talks with The 3 B's - Boland, Bonner & Bowen - have started. All are being offered new terms.

MORE COACHES THAN NATIONAL EXPRESS
Lennie Lawrence is believed to be searching for new coaching staff to strengthen his team. At the present time, it is believed that Ian Butterworth, George Wood and other youth coaches such as Colin Pascoe with all remain with the Bluebirds but Lawrence will review the entire structure as new managers always do.

BIG MAC
Not strictly football related but it's CCFC get mentioned in the news for it. The trial of Sam Hammam's bodyguard, Neil MacNamara, for various well publicised offences has been adjourned until March 8th. Mac is on bail but with no conditions attached to it.

NEXT GAME - CAMBRIDGE UNITED, HOME THIS SATURDAY @ 3pm
They may be bottom of the league and only collected 1 single point away all season but Cambridge produced a major shock by winning 2-0 at Bristol City last night to qualify for the LDV Trophy Final at Millenium Stadium. (That'll teach Brizzle for having The Wurzles playing on the pitch before kick-off!!).

As usual therefore, Saturday's home game won't be as easy and straightforward as league tables suggest.

Get behind the lads now and buy your tickets from the official website www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk or call the ticket office on 0845 - 345 1400.
