Lennie Lawrence has given the only official clue that Alan Cork is now the ex Cardiff City manager.

Speaking to Tony Ress at www.sports.com Lawrence said

"I wouldn’t insult your intelligence to suggest something hasn’t happened. It’s a sad day for football Alan Cork is a fine human being. The football club will be revealing future plans on Monday."

Lawrence will take over the managers job and it's yet to be seen what will happen to the assistant manager Ian Butterworth and other coaches inc George Wood.

Lawrence must now lift the players and target the play offs for Cardiff City. There must be a new hope now that Cork has gone. It's been obvious to those who watch Cardiff on a regular basis that the players did not respect Alan Cork and I'm led to believe they DO respect Lennie Lawrence. Well this coming Tuesday is the first time the team, Lawrence's team, will have the chance to prove they can make it to the play offs. Bury visit Ninian Park and several hundred supporters along with myself will remember the shocking night at Gigg Lane when City went down by 3 goals to nil earlier in the season.

Next Saturday we are at home to Cambridge, they also beat us earlier in the season. Two home wins will push Cardiff back into the play off frame and set up a massive clash at Huddersfield on Tuesday week.

There will be no honeymoon period for Lawrence. He's been here long enough now to know the players and how they play. Our season now rests in Lawrence's hands. Cork may have done too much damage already.

The Cardiff City supporters must now back Lawrence and back the team as we enter the final stages of the season. We have have seen three managers leave since Sam took over, Lennie is the 4th man to take on the job.

Billy Ayre, Bobby Gould and Alan Cork are all names from the past. Lawrence is the here and now.
