Cardiff
City are up before the FAW today to answer charges of misconduct after the Leeds United
game. The hearing started this morning at the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel and Cardiff City could be facing a fine or even ground closure. The hearing follows the pitch invasion and missle throwing at the Cardiff v Leeds FA Cup tie on January 6th. The result on the pitch was one of the biggest in Cardiff's history, unfortunately after match scenes of City fans turning towards Leeds supporters and the intervention of the police on the pitch with dogs trying to keep control meant the UK media had a field day painting every single Cardiff City fan a hooligan. While certain actions cannot be condoned and the realisation that there could have been a major incident is not to be overlooked I hope the FAW look at the facts and not the fiction created in the media. |
