City skipper Graham Kavanagh has been named as captain of the PFA Division 2 team of the season announced at the PFA awards dinner at The Grovesnor House Hotel in London last night.

The full team is

(From www.givemefootball.com)

1. MARK TYLER (Peterborough United)

Norwich-born Mark has risen through the ranks at London Road
and, recognised by some as one of the best keepers outside the
Premiership, he has been a consistent performer for
Peterborough over the last few seasons. A former England
Under-20 international.

2. GRAEME MURTY (Reading)

Signed from York City for £700,000 in July 1998, the early stages
of his Reading career were blighted by injury, but he has put
those times behind him to establish himself as an integral part
of the Royals back four. Excellent in defence as well as attack, he
was voted fans' Player of the Year for 2001.

3. ARJAN DE ZEEUW (Wigan Athletic)

Spent the early part of his career in Holland before joining
Barnsley from Telstar for £200,000 in November 1995, winning
the Tykes' Player of the Year award in his first season. Signed for
Wigan in July 1999 on a Bosman free transfer, and has been a
consistent performer throughout.

4. DANNY CULLIP (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Tough and perceptive central defender who won the club's
Player Of The Year award in his first season, 1999-2000, and
went close to retaining it a year later. Unlucky with injuries at
Brentford, he moved to Brighton in September 1999, and was a
key member of last season's promotion-winning side.

5. MICHAEL BELL (Bristol City)

After spending six seasons in Northampton Town's first team,
Michael moved on to Wycombe Wanderers before joining City in
1997, for a fee of £150,000. Scores more than his fair share of
goals and has now been named in the PFA Division Two team
for the last three seasons.

6. GRAHAM KAVANAGH (Cardiff City)

Graham became Cardiff's first-ever one million pound player
when he joined the club from Stoke City in the summer of 2001.
A former Middlesbrough player, his experience - and his goals -
have been invaluable to Cardiff this season. Team captain.

7. JASON KOUMAS (Tranmere Rovers)

A quick-thinking, hard-running midfielder blessed with
imagination and plenty of energy, Jason won his first cap for
Wales last summer in the 1-1 draw with Ukraine. He committed
his future to Tranmere until the summer of 2004 but is
continually linked to top clubs.

8. SCOTT MURRAY (Bristol City)

Began his career as a striker with Fraserburgh in Scotland
before continuing his football education with Aston Villa where
he operated on the right flank. Signed a four-year contract with
City in the summer of 2000 and is celebrating his second
nomination in the PFA XI for Division Two.

9. PAUL EVANS (Brentford)

A former Welsh Under-21international, Paul joined Bees from
Shrewsbury in March 1999 for £100,000, and his signing was
the catalyst for the successful assault on the Championship.
Leads by example and is a prolific scorer from midfield, usually
from long range.

10. BOBBY ZAMORA (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Bobby took the Third Division by storm in his first full season,
scoring 31 goals as Albion won the title. The subject of
seven-figure bids from Cardiff and Wigan, the former Bristol
Rovers striker has virtually matched last season's achievement,
making light of the step up to Division Two.

11. NICKY FORSTER (Reading)

Nicky joined Reading from Birmingham City in June 1999 and
although he didn't start a single game for the club in the 2000-01
season after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in
pre-season he has been in sparkling form this term, averaging a
goal every two games.

Congratulations to Graham who was also voted player of the season at Cardiff City in the Suporters Club awards on Saturday night.

The PFA voted Manchester United's Ruud Van Nistilroy as the PFA player of the season with Welsh striker Craig Bellamy winning the young player award.
