Play offs here we come. City earned their play off place with a hard fought win over struggling Notts County. As I've said for several weeks now it's results that matter and today we won to take us to the play offs. City would have qualified anyway with Bristol City being hammered at Blackpool, 5 - 1. Notts County took an early lead as City looked nervy and unable to get their game together in front of a 17,105 crowd, the second biggest in the league at Ninian Park this season, only bettered by the 17,400 who attending the opening game of the campaign against Wycombe. There has been some debate over City's first goal. Leo it would appear has claimed it after missing out to Peter Thorne at Huddersfield. Whoever it was a touch from a superb Kavanagh corner. No doubting the second goal was Scott Young's. 12 minutes from time and was a party atmosphere. City fans kept off the pitch as they were asked and the players enjoyed to ovations they received at the end. Brighton are already promoted as champions, well done to them, Reading or Brentford will fill the second promotion spot with the other team joining City, Stoke and Huddersfield in the play offs. As it stands now City are in place for an away leg first but the exact details and our opponents will not be known until after the Tranmere game. |
