| Mon 11th February 2002. City up two places | |

City
moved up two places in Division 2 on Saturday thanks to Tranmere and Q.P.R. failing to to
win. Tranmere went down 2 - 1 at Huddersfield and Rangers drew at Northampton. There was better news further up the table as Brighton, Stoke and Bristol City were beaten. Brighton had a miserable day at Oldham. Bobby Zamora was only a substitute and he came on only to be sent off for violent conduct and now faces a three match ban. Reading lead the table, 15 points ahead of City. Brighton in second are only 8 points ahead. Brighton have played the same amount of games as City but they do entertain Reading tonight. An away win would virtually seal promotion for Reading but it would mean City could close the gap on Brighton to 5 points with a win at Brentford tomorrow. City have already played Reading twice, Brighton twice and Stoke twice, they still have games against each other that will see vital points dropped. City are still in the shake up, 4 wins in 5 games, three clean sheets, maybe we are starting a useful run that could see us as a play off team for sure and second place? Who knows. |
