Two points dropped for City a point gained for Blackpool, thats what Seasiders boss Steve McMahon thought

It's a good point for us but when you go two goals ahead at a place like this you are disappointed to come away with just a point. First half we were excellent, after the first minutes we looked a bit shaky but we could have been 3 maybe 4-1 up, we controlled it and that goal from them gets them right back in it before half time. I was delighted with the effort and commitment, they've come in for some criticism but I can't fault them today."

It's probably two points lost for Cardiff but one earned for us
."

Lenny Lawrence talked about the lapses that cost City

"We just switched off, went to nothing in five minutes flat. What my players have to learn is if they don't apply themselves properly, put 10 per cent less in, then we will be 50 per cent less effective.

"The application needed to get the wins necessary isn't there. If that continues, we will stutter. The players have got to be 100 per cent spot on in EVERYTHING they do, in training and in games.

"It doesn't matter if you're the most expensive player, best paid, worst paid, youngest or oldest.

"There is a collective responsibility as a team. The lesson has to be learned."

Lenny agreed that if we fail to make the play offs Cardiff City have under achieved this season.

"Absolutely. This club should be in the top two."

"I've inherited a situation here.

"We've got a big squad, a lot of players were brought in before I came here.

"Most teams who come here think we are the Manchester United of the division and if we are only eighth, people are entitled to say we have under-achieved.

"I've been looking back on the results and they show the team hasn't been good enough in the two penalty areas.

"To be genuine play-off material at this stage of the season, you need to have scored at least a dozen more goals than we have.

"You can get away with that, provided you keep clean sheets.

"But this team hasn't kept clean sheets - and the lack of concentration, which cost us dear again yesterday, is staggering at times.

Next week City face a tough test at Boundary Park against Oldham, a rival for the play offs. It's a game City cannot afford to lose.
