It's not just Cardiff City fans that want the Bluebirds to win at Huddersfield tonight. Severnside rivals Bristol City know their best chance for a play off spot will come if the Bluebirds beat Huddersfield. Brizzle are only two points behind the Terriers and will fancy their chances of making 6th place if Cardiff win.

The following article was published in Monday's Bristol Evening Post
CITY SING THE BLUES

Bristol CITY fans must do the unthinkable tomorrow night - support Cardiff City.

A win for the Bluebirds at Huddersfield would give the Reds' play-off bid a huge boost after a 2-0 win over Bury kept their hopes alive.

Sixth-placed Huddersfield lost 3-0 at Brentford on Saturday and City are now just two points behind the Terriers with two games - at Blackpool and at home to Stoke - to play.

"I suppose everyone associated with the club will be rooting for Cardiff with the way results went at the weekend, " said City manager Danny Wilson.

"We have to hope a couple of teams can do us a favour again before the end of the season but the main thing is that we keep winning."

After entertaining Cardiff tomorrow night, Lou Macari's men take on Port Vale at home and then travel to Notts County on April 20.

There was another memorable headline on the front of Mondays South Wales Echo, it read

BLUEBIRDS SOAR AS WELSH RUGBY LAYS IN TATTERS

Now I'm a supporter of all things Welsh but it does offer some satisfaction that maybe the dinosaurs that rule Welsh rugby and the Welsh media may finally start to open their eyes that Cardiff City could be about to become the biggest and most successful thing in Welsh sport.
