Another 3 points and a step nearer the play offs. It was not the best of games but 3 - 0 to the City I'll take every time.

City took an early lead when Rob Earnshaw pounced on a bad back pass and scored into an empty net. Unfortunately Earnie pulled his hamstring again and limped off the pitch as the crowd was still celebrating the goal. He will be away for a few weeks and will miss his chance to play for Wales.

Gavin Gordon came on to replace him but was himself substituted later in the game when he appeared to be struggling with his hamstring.

The game between City's first and second goals was average fayre but things perked up when Gordon went off and Peter Thorne, a surprise inclusion on the bench along with Spencer Prior, came onto the pitch.

Thorne is class, he made so much space for himself and looks like he will always be a threat, his header was saved but Bowen following up scored City's second. Thorne himself went close when he cheekily chested an effort just wide.

City lost Des Hamilton with an apparent hamstring injury late on and then Jason Bowen scored his second when he turned in an Andy Legg cross with 9 minutes to go.

City moved into 8th place with their 4th league win in 5 games and their third clean sheet in those games.

It all looks a lot rosier again. Play offs are so close with the second automatic promotion place not that far away.
