The last few days have been a bit surreal. The failure to beat Stoke can be looked upon in two ways.

1. A nightmare, the biggest failing the club has ever had to endure, or

2. A blip on the way to a greater glory.

We have no right to beat everybody. We made the play offs because of a 14 match unbeaten run, to be there was a bonus. I agree the way in which we lost out was agonising but we ended up in the highest league position we have seen for 19 years. We have a much more solid footing than we have ever had. Point 2 is the obvious answer to the question above.

Out of 92 league teams only 10 get the honour of being promoted, we have had that honour in two of the last 4 years. This time was not our time, next year it maybe.

I feel a lot better missing out on promotion than I did when we were relegated.

What's needed now is support. Sam said 5 years to get to Div 1. We nearly made it within 2 years. Lessons will have been learned and we have a proper manager from the start of the season in Lennie Lawrence.

To cover the last few days here the links to the press reports covering Cardiff City. As will have noticed I've been a bit light on news stories as the passion of the football subdued me from my journalistic duties.
