Newspaper
reports today are claiming that City are in talks with Bristol City over striker Tony
Thorpe. Thorpe is out of conract at the end of the season and its thought Bristol City would let him leave now for £350,000, he cost £1m and was their leading scorer last year with 23 goals. Cardiff were interested in Thorpe a couple of seasons back but never followed it up. Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley are also thought to be interested. Initial hopes for a loan signing ahead of the trip to Bournemouth tomorrow appear to have come to nothing. City will be hoping that Rob Earnshaw, Peter Thorne, Gavin Gordon and Spencer Prior will be fit. |
