Alan Cork is hoping to bring in a loan striker before Tuesdays game against Bournemouth. We've been missing a decent goalscorer for weeks with the injury to Peter Thorne and the failure of the other strikers to score in over a month.

Cork told the Echo on Saturday

"We've been looking for a loan striker for some time and we have people in mind. We can't keep firing blanks. I will talk things over with my coaching staff, but I do hope to bring somebody in for the match."

City could be boosted by the return of Thorne and Earnshaw and possibly Gavin Gordon. But all the players have been out injured and cannot be expected to run straight back into the team and score goals. Gordon when he was playing failed to find the net.

City could also welcome back Spencer Prior.

There is no official confirmation of a potential loan player but there are whispers this Sunday morning that a player has been lined up and will sign in time if all goes well. I stress these are unconfirmed rumours but from usually reliable sources.
