Play off / promotion rivals Stoke and Brighton played at the Britannia Stadium last night. Stoke ran out 3 - 1 winners taking them 8 points ahead of Cardiff but having played two games more. Stoke are third just 2 points behind Brighton, that means the Seagulls in second place are only 10 points ahead of City having played a game more.

The three match ban to Bobby Zamora has proved costly. They have drawn twice and been beaten this week. 2 points from 9 is a poor but some might say expected return from the "one man team".

Brighton have done well this season and Cardiff will do well to catch them.
