| November Headlines |
Peter Thorne returns to the Cardiff City line up tomorrow saying"I can't wait to get out there" Thorne has been out since picking up an injury against Swindon back in October and he's missed the last 8 league and cup games. He came through 45 minutes against Derby County in a midweek friendly and will start up front alongside Rob Earnshaw for tomorrows vital clash against Oldham. City also welcome back Graham Kavanagh who was suspended for last weeks draw against Notts County. Jason Bowen retains his place, Mark Bonner has recoved from a minor knee injury and Dean Gordon will make his home debut. City then will line up Alexander, Gabbidon, Prior, Young, Gordon, Boland, Bonner, Kavanagh, Bowen, Thorne and Earnshaw. Subs expected to be Leo FW, Andy Legg, Kevin Nugent, Rhys Weston, Layton Maxwell with James Collins and Gavin Gordon also available. Des Hamilton could be out for longer than first thought, early reports say he's out for 2 weeks but unconfirmed murmours are suggesting he may need an operation and a longer lay off. Paul Brayson is close to fitness but is not quite ready.
The Latics will be no pushover, they come into the game after An FA Cup win over Barrow and as I say they are above us in the table. The time has come now for City's players to start to perform at Ninian Park. We have three games in 8 days. Oldham tomorrow, Brentford on Tuesday and Port Vale in the Cup next Saturdya. There has to be a marked improvement in the quality of football at Ninian Park and the ability to kill a team off. How many times have we let teams back into matches that we have dominated. December will be a big month for Alan Cork and Cardiff City. Our season could depend on it. |
