| January Headlines |
City completed their group matches in the FAW Premier Cup with a 2 - 0 win over Cwmbran at Ninian Park. The game was officially an away fixture for City but had to be played at Ninian because of problems with the Cwmbran Stadium. Dave Greene scored a deflected goal on the half hour and Gavin Gordan produced the moment of the night with a back heel to score City's second on 77 mins. City have won six out of six in the groups stages and have earned maximum £'s in qualifying for a guaranteed home tie in the quarter finals. There was a welcome return to action for Russell Perrett tonight and overall there was a strong line up that included Jeff Eckhardt, Greene, Perrett, Brayson, Hill, Fowler, Nogan and Gavin Gordan. The line up was completed with Matin Giles, James Collins and Paul Buttery in goal. All eyes now turn to Fridays massive encounter against Rochdale at Ninian. Kick off 7:45pm. |
