Norwich
and Wales striker Iwan Roberts is the latest striker to be linked with a move to Cardiff
City. The 33 front man who a, scored for Norwich yesterday and b, is likely to start for Wales against Armenia on Saturday is reported to be a £300,000 target and could even sign before the Wales game. The Daily Mirror ran the story this morning saying that Cardiff have had Roberts watched in his last two games. I have been told from another source that City are interested. £300,000 for a current first division striker seems on the low side but taking account his age, Norwich may want to get a return on the player they paid £1m for in 1997. Roberts has scored 57 league goals for the Canaries in 161 starts. In total he has scored 169 league goals in his career at Watford, Huddersfield, Leicester, Wolves and Norwich. Add Roberts' name to that of Andy Booth and Peter Thorne. All three are in goal scoring form as well at the moment. The Bobby Zamora suggestion from the weekend has been rubbished. |
