| October Headlines |
City had led from a quality Jason Bowen header on 40 mins and it looked like the Bluebirds would win their third straight game and keep a third clean sheet in a row. City kept up their record of scoring in every game played this season but it means nothing when goals are leaked atthe other end. Frst half City were lively and Tranmere kept it tight. The Bluebirds were good for their one goal lead and Neil Alexander was a spectator for most of the game. Second half City lost the creativity and Kavanagh dropped back, a sure sign that City had lost nearly all their attacking intent. Tranmere were more into the game but still Alexander was mostly a spectator. The second division is very tightly packed. If City had held on for the win they would have climbed from 14th to 8th place. The 1 point gained though has meant a drop of 1 place to 15th. If we were to win the two games in hand we have on most teams then we'd be 5th, as it is the whole division will have played again before we do as our next game is away at Wrexham on Sunday Nov 4th. Hopefully for City the live HTV camera's will see another fine away performance. The tactics and formation used by Cork is working wonderfully well away from home as Reading, Bristol City, Swindon and Port Vale can testify. At home he may need to re-consider. Next action is this Tuesday when Peterborough come to Ninian Park in round 2 of the LDV Vans Trophy. |
