Its party time at Ninian Park. Tomorrow is City's last home game of the season and
with promotion already in the bag it will be a celebration whatever happens. City are chasing two records, firstly if they avoid defeat then it will only be the second time in history the team has gone unbeaten at home for an entire season. City are also the only team from the 92 that is in such a position. Arsenal the only other unbeaten team at home were beaten 0 - 3 by Middlesboro over Easter so leaving City the only unbeaten team. Secondly they are only two goals short of the record 93 league goals in a season. Granted the side from the 40's only played 42 games to to 93 goals the current players play the games they have to and now a season is 46 games. To get to 93 goals would cap a superb season where Sam has come to our club and helped to start a new chapter in the history of Cardiff City FC. City are still facing several injury problems. Josh Low, Daniel Gabbidon, Gavin Gordon and Rhys Weston are all set to miss out again and Kevin Evans is doubtful after taking a knock at Mansfield. Mark Bonner looks likely to come in to replace Evans. Mat Brazier an early substitute at Mansfield is expected to start. I have heard that Mark Walton may get his place back after Carl Muggleton has let in 10 goals in his last 4 games. After being first choice for 95% of the season I'd agre with that. Russell Perrett looks certain to keep his place and good luck to him, his career has been blighted by injury but he is a class act. If anyone deserves a break he does and it will do him good to run out in front of 13,000 fans tomorrow. City expected line up. Walton, Brazier, Low, Young, Perrett, Legg, Bonner, Boland, Bowen, Leo, Brayson. Substo include Earnie, McCulloch, Giles, Collins. |
