| January Headlines |
City moved into second place in Div 3 today with their 5 - 2 win at Macclesfield.
Brighton who were three points clear of City this morning were beaten 1 - 0 at Exeter,
City old by Steve Flack with a first half winner. Chesterfield comfortably won 3 - 0 at home against Torquay and are 15 points clear of City but they have played four games more. The game between Orient and Rochdale, the teams 5th and 6th respectively is being played on Sunday. City are 5 points ahead of Orient and 7 ahead of Rochdale. A draw would be a nice outcome. City entertain Rochdale at Ninian Park next Friday night (7;45pm). Surely the biggest game of the season so far, a win for City would mean 10 straight wins in the league at Ninian Park, a record we think, also it will put daylight between us and Dale. 6th placed Southend drew 0 - 0 at Roots Hall with Shrewsbury and 7th and 8th placed Hartlepool and Blackpool both won. At the bottom Carlisle beat Mansfield 2 - 1 but stay bottom thanks to that Exeter win over Brighton. |
