City's defeat at Q.P.R. has dropped the Bluebirds to 17th in the table.

Brighton, who come to Ninian Park on Saturday, still lead but their advantage is down to 2 points from 4 after a 1 - 1 draw at Wycombe. The Seagulls have 21 points from 10 games. Oldham in second place thumped Bury 4 - 0 at Boundary Park. Bristol City and Q.P.R. are 3rd and 4th on 18 points after home wins against Tranmere and Cardiff respectively.

Huddersfield in 5th place could only manage a 0 - 0 draw at home to Chesterfield.

At the bottom of the table Bury are on 3 points. Only 1 win for the Shakers after 9 games. Northampton and Wrexham both have 6 points. The Robins were beaten 3 - 1 at home by Port Vale and Northampton were beaten at home again by 3 goals to 1 by the impressive Blackpool. Their striker Brett Ormerod picked up another 2 goal last night taking him into double figures for the season so far.
