City fell to their third 2 - 1 defeat in the last 4 league games. Things were looking good at half time, Graham Kavanagh had given the Bluebirds a 37th minute lead from the penalty spot. Peter Thorne was brought down as he went for goal and Kav hammered the ball home from 12 yards. It was fair reward for City who outplayed Q.P.R which saw Rangers booed off at half time by their own fans. Second half tough Q.P.R won their own penalty 10 minutes in, and Andy Thomson scored from the spot. Q.P.R then enjoyed their best spell and kept City under pressure resulting in Thomsons second goal and Rangers' winner. Two sour notes, the game was stopped for several minutes while missiles apparantly thrown from the City fans into the Q.P.R goal were removed and the continual penalising of City players by the referee. At least 23 free kicks given against City some of them for the most innocuos reasons. City now face the Division 2 leaders, Brighton, at Ninian Park on Saturday. |
