Spencer Prior is hoping that today is the day he makes his City debut. While its widely acknowledged he will start the game Spencer has spoken about his injury and the prospect of playing today.

"I've been feeling a bit guilty because I've been here nearly a month and picking up my money for not doing anything,"

"I've felt like a bit of a fraud in the last few weeks. It's time I started earning my money.

"I've been brought here to do a job, to bring experience at the back and talk to the younger players. Hopefully now I can start doing that."

"I'm not guaranteed a place because David Hughes and Daniel Gabbidon have done really well in the centre of defence. There's tough competition here. There's talk of another striker joining us."

Spencer was forced to miss the start of the season when a freak training ground accident left him with a fractured cheek. It was a massive disapointment just 5 days before the big kick off.

"It was a freak accident. It happened and we can't do anything about it now. We can either be down about it or carry on.

"We've learned lessons from what happened and everybody is getting on with the job. The accident is history now.

"After I was caught I carried on for about five minutes, then I rubbed my cheek because it was hurting. It was then that I felt a big lump where the cheekbone had caved in.

"It was a real choker missing the Wycombe game because there were 17,500 people there and I wanted to make my debut along with the other new lads.

"Hopefully there will be another bumper crowd against Bournemouth and I can make my debut in front of another 17,000 gate.

"We hope we get another big crowd. That really does help because it gives the players such a lift.

"Those are the sort of crowds we want to be playing in front of. The people here feel the club is going places.

"There's a buzz in the city about it and I've noticed more youngsters are wearing Cardiff City shirts than Manchester United which is fantastic.

"We know if we do well that people will come and watch us. That's why I came here, because of the potential at Cardiff City. But if things do go a little bit pear-shaped I hope the fans will still come and support us."

"I've broken bones before and if I wasn't ready I'd know it. If a player comes back too early then that's not fair on his team-mates because they'll end up carrying him,"

"I would never do that. If I didn't feel up to the job then I wouldn't go back into the team. I wouldn't do anything that would be detrimental to the side.

"Since I've been out of hospital I've done everything bar playing and I started heading the ball again a few days ago.

"My timing might be out a little bit so it could be a case of just feeling my way back into things."

Spencer finished with a warning that Bournemouth were not be underestimated. The Cherries have lost all three competitive games this season have scored no goals either. It would certainly be a shock if City did not take all three points today.

"We mustn't take Bournemouth for granted. They haven't started the season well so they will be fired up for this one and will feel, like most other teams in this division, that they have something to prove against us."
