still waiting for further news on Neil Alexander. The former Scottish U21 keeper appears
to be an excellent player and Livingstone fans are 1, not happy he is leaving and 2, not
happy that they are only receiving a reported £200,000 when they reckon he could be a
huge star. Scottish press on Thursday claimed a £200,000 deal was waiting to be completed
after a visit to Cardiff by Neil. With Neil Alexander being a goalkeeper it fills one of
the positions that Alan Cork is looking to fill  Another position that Corky is looking to fill is a left sided
defender. There was a posting on a Chesterfield messageboard late on Thursday saying that
22 year old Michael Simpkins has already joined Cardiff on a free transfer. I can find no
official confirmation of this but Simpkins is another highly rated player who made 27
appearances for the Spirites last season, inc the match at Saltergate against Cardiff
where he was booked.
