Cardiff City dropped to 7th in Division 2 after Saturdays games. Wycombe Wanderers beat Cambridge Utd 2 - 0 at Adams Park and moved ito 6th place. The two teams above who were playing, Reading and Bristol City, ironically our next two opponents as well increased their leads on City. Reading only slightly though, they drew 1 - 1 at the Madjeski against Wigan. Reading are now 5th on 39 points, two ahead of City but they have a game in hand. Victory on Wednesday over the Royals is essential. Bristol City are on a roll, yesterday they beat Wrexham at Ashton Gate for their fifth consecutive league win. Their third clean sheet in a row as well. The Robins play Port Vale on Boxing Day and will fancy their chances in the Potteries. They could come to Ninian Park looking for a 7th straight win. Bristol City are currently 7 points ahead of Cardiff but they have played a game more. City must continue the winning home form in the matches coming up against Reading and Bristol City, two wins will keep City firmly in the hunt for automatic promotion. A reminder that the Reading game on Boxing Day is a midday kick off. The Bristol City game next Saturday is 3:00pm. |
