Cardiff City remain in 6th place after Friday nights Division 2 games. Brentford go top of the table after 3 goals in the last 14 minutes saw the Bees beat lowly Northampton 3 - 0, it was their 16th defeat of the season. Brighton had the chance to go top with a win from their game at home to Chesterfield but despite Zamora scoring again the Spirites came from 2 - 0 down to share a point each at the Withdean. Brighton drop from 2nd to 3rd. In the other games Oldham closed to within 4 points of City with a 2 - 0 win at home to Port Vale and in the other match played Notts County beat Swindon 3 - 1 at Meadow Lane. Tranmere are away at Peterborough this afternoon while Wycombe entertain Cambridge, a win for either Tranmere or Wycombe would see them leap frog City. 4th placed Bristol City play Wrexham at Ashton Gate, a win for the Robins would see a 7 point gap open up between City and the top 4. Reading in 5th, and one point ahead of City entertain Wigan at the Madjeski. |
